Responsible
Gambling at QQMacan

QQMacan believes that gambling should always be an enjoyable form of entertainment — never a source of distress, financial hardship, or harm. This page outlines the tools, resources, and support we provide to help every Malaysian player on our platform stay in control of their gaming.

21+ Only — For players aged 21 and above only

Gambling Should Always Be Entertainment

For the vast majority of players on QQMacan — from the live football markets on EPL weekends to the slot lobby on a quiet Tuesday evening in Petaling Jaya — online gaming is exactly what it is meant to be: fun, exciting, and recreational. We want to keep it that way for everyone.

Responsible gambling means making informed decisions about how you play. It means setting a budget you are comfortable losing, taking breaks when the game stops being fun, and recognising when patterns of play are shifting from entertainment toward something more concerning.

QQMacan takes its duty of care to every player seriously. We enforce a strict 21+ age requirement, provide a comprehensive suite of player protection tools, and maintain a 24/7 English-language support team available every day — including all Malaysian public holidays such as Hari Raya, Chinese New Year, and Hari Merdeka.

We will always put player safety above platform profit.

  • Enforce 21+ age verification for every registered account
  • Provide deposit limits, session timers, and self-exclusion tools at no cost
  • Monitor player behaviour for early signs of problem gambling
  • Impose account restrictions where we believe a player may be at risk
  • Direct players in distress toward professional support resources
  • Never market to players who have self-excluded or set a self-imposed restriction
  • Never encourage problem gambling or target vulnerable individuals

Tools Built to Keep You in Control

All of the following tools are available free of charge within your QQMacan account settings. They can be activated instantly and — where appropriate — cannot be reversed without a mandatory waiting period to prevent impulsive decisions.

Deposit Limits

Set a maximum amount you can deposit into your QQMacan account per day, per week, or per month. Once your limit is reached, further deposits are blocked until the period resets. Reducing a limit takes effect immediately. Increasing a limit requires a mandatory 7-day cooling-off period before the higher amount activates.

Session Time Limits

Set a maximum session duration — from 30 minutes to 8 hours. Once your session timer expires, you will receive a reminder notification and the option to log out. Mandatory session time-outs can be set to automatically end your session at the limit, requiring you to actively log back in to continue playing.

Cooling-Off Period

Take a short break from gambling by activating a cooling-off period of 24 hours, 48 hours, 1 week, or up to 6 weeks. During this period, your account remains open for withdrawals only — you cannot deposit or place any wagers. Cooling-off periods cannot be cancelled once activated.

Self-Exclusion

Self-exclusion is a voluntary, longer-term account suspension for players who believe they need a more serious break from gambling. You may request self-exclusion for a minimum of 6 months, 1 year, 2 years, 5 years, or indefinitely. Self-exclusion requests take effect immediately and cannot be reversed during the stated period.

Loss Limits

In addition to deposit limits, you can set a maximum net loss threshold for a given period. Once your losses reach the set limit, further wagers are blocked for the remainder of that period — regardless of your remaining account balance. This is one of the most effective tools for preventing session chasing behaviour.

Reality Check Reminders

Enable periodic pop-up reminders that appear during your active session to show how long you have been playing and your net win/loss for the session. Reality check reminders help maintain perspective and reduce the risk of losing track of time or spending — a common factor in problem gambling episodes.

Setting and Adjusting Your Limits

QQMacan's limit system is designed with a deliberate asymmetry: making your limits more restrictive is always instant, while loosening them requires a waiting period. This protects players from making impulsive decisions in the heat of a losing session.

Remember: Responsible gambling tools only work when you use them proactively. We encourage all QQMacan players — whether in Kuala Lumpur, Johor Bahru, or anywhere across Malaysia — to set their limits when they first register, before they start playing.

Reducing Any Limit

Takes effect immediately, with no delay. You can reduce your deposit limit, session limit, or loss limit at any time without restriction.

Increasing a Limit

Requires a mandatory 7-day waiting period before the higher limit activates. This gives you time to reconsider and prevents impulsive increases during active sessions.

Activating Self-Exclusion

Takes effect within 24 hours of your request. Once active, self-exclusion cannot be reversed during the minimum stated period, regardless of your request.

Cancelling a Cooling-Off Period

Cooling-off periods cannot be cancelled once activated. You must wait for the stated period to expire before your account is restored to full function.

Requesting Assistance

All responsible gambling tool requests — including self-exclusion — can be made via live chat or by contacting our support team, available 24/7 including public holidays.

Strictly 21 Years and Above Only

QQMacan operates an absolute minimum age requirement of 21 years of age for all registered accounts. This is a legal and ethical obligation we take without exception. Online gambling is not appropriate for minors, and protecting young people from early exposure to gambling is a non-negotiable part of our responsible gambling commitment.

All accounts are subject to age verification as part of the KYC process. We use a combination of document-based ID verification and third-party age check services to confirm that every registered player meets the 21+ requirement. Where age verification is incomplete or fails, the account is suspended until the matter is resolved.

If you are aware of someone under the age of 21 using QQMacan, or if you are under 21 yourself, please contact our support team immediately. Providing false age information during registration is a breach of our Terms & Conditions and may be reported to the relevant authorities.

Warning Signs of Problem Gambling

Problem gambling does not always look the way people expect. It often begins gradually — small shifts in behaviour that individually seem unremarkable, but which together paint a concerning picture. Recognising the early signs in yourself or someone you know is the first step toward getting help.

The following warning signs are adapted from internationally recognised responsible gambling frameworks. If several of these resonate with your experience, we encourage you to use our self-exclusion tools and reach out to one of the support organisations listed on this page.

1
Chasing losses — placing more bets or increasing stakes in an attempt to win back money that has been lost, rather than accepting the loss and stopping.
2
Gambling with money you cannot afford to lose — using funds set aside for rent, bills, food, or other essential expenses to fund gambling activity.
3
Gambling to escape problems — using gambling as a coping mechanism for stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, or other life challenges.
4
Lying about gambling — concealing the extent of your gambling activity or losses from family, friends, or colleagues.
5
Inability to stop — repeatedly attempting to cut back or stop gambling and finding yourself unable to do so, or returning to gambling after a period of abstinence.
6
Neglecting responsibilities — missing work, family commitments, or other important obligations due to time spent gambling or recovering from gambling-related stress.
7
Borrowing money to gamble — taking loans, using credit cards, or borrowing from friends and family specifically to fund gambling sessions.
8
Preoccupation with gambling — spending a disproportionate amount of mental energy thinking about past sessions, planning future sessions, or researching gambling strategies.

Tips for Keeping Gambling Fun

Set a budget before you play. Decide in advance exactly how much you are comfortable spending — and treat that amount as a cost of entertainment, not an investment you expect to recover.
Never gamble to chase losses. Accepting a losing session and walking away is the hallmark of a responsible player. The odds do not change because you have lost — chasing losses almost always leads to greater losses.
Take regular breaks. Step away from the screen every hour, especially during longer sessions. Fatigue impairs decision-making and increases impulsive behaviour. Use QQMacan's session timer to remind you.
Keep gambling separate from other parts of your life. Gambling should be one recreational activity among many — not a daily habit, a social obligation, or a response to stress or boredom.
Do not gamble under the influence of alcohol or when emotionally distressed. Impaired or emotional states significantly reduce the quality of decision-making and increase the likelihood of reckless wagering.
Talk to someone you trust. If you are concerned about your gambling, having an honest conversation with a family member, friend, or counsellor is often the most effective first step. You do not have to manage it alone.
